Farmers in Singhoda (Madhya Pradesh) are cheated by private ‘merchants’ who purchased more than 400 quintal moong by showing them their Aadhar and PAN cards. All payment cheques issued to farmers against the purchases bounced, reported NewsBust. It is important to note that the Farmers’ Produce Trade and Commerce (Promotion and Facilitation) Act, 2020 allows purchasing of farm produce based on PAN card.
