SKM holds a press conference at Press Club, Delhi. SKM sees a larger design of provocation, violence, and repression in some states ruled by the BJP. It demands: (1) Union Minister of State for Home Ajay Mishra Teni should be dismissed from the cabinet and arrested on charges of spreading disharmony, murder, and conspiracy; (2) Ashish Mishra (Monu), the son of Minister Ajay Mishra, and his associates (in whom the names of Sumit Jaiswal and Ankit Das have surfaced), who have been accused of murder, should be immediately arrested. The government was given time till October 11. If the demands are not met SKM announces a series of actions in the coming days:
- October 12: Shaheed Smriti Divas (Homage Ceremony in memory of martyred farmers) in Lakhimpur Kheri.
- October 15: Effigies of the Prime Minister, Home Minister and one more, as per the local situation to be burnt on Dussehra as symbols of lies and ego. This was later postponed by one day (October 16) as there were some apprehensions about the effigy burning on Dussehra being used as a tool of polarization of Hindus against Sikhs.
- October 18: All India Rail Roko from 10 am-4 pm.
- November 22: A Mahapanchayat in Lucknow will be organized to demand justice.
