INLD defeats ruling BJP-JJP candidate in Haryana’s Ellenabad by-election. The seat was vacant after INLD’s Abhay Chautala resigned as MLA in support of farmers’ demands. He was reelected in the by-election. In Himachal Pradesh, of the three seats, Congress retained two and won one from the ruling BJP. BJP also lost 2 out of three Lok Sabha seats in by-elections.
