On the second day, the number of protesters goes up as people join in large numbers from nearby villages and other districts. Farmer leaders tell the administration to call them for talks when they have something substantial to offer to them.

Fourth day, internet services in Karnal and neighbouring districts are restored. Late evening talks between farmers and a CM appointed official from Chandigarh takes place. There seems to be some positive outcome in a 4.5 hours long meeting. Decisions taken in the meeting are reserved for approval from the SKM leadership. The next day another meeting to let the administration know the decision [29].
September 11: Talks between farm leaders and Haryana govt appointee conclude this morning. Following demands are met:
*Two family members from martyr farmer Sushil Kajal to be given govt jobs against sanctioned posts. Earlier there was a demand for one job.
*Inquiry into August 28 lathicharge at Bastada toll plaza by a retired High Court justice. Inquiry to be completed within a month and ex-SDM Ayush Sinha to be sent on forced leave till then. Fresh FIR to be filed after the inquiry.
*Compensation to injured farmers and for damaged vehicles.
Proposals were approved by the present protesters after taking advice from legal experts.
Farmers announce victory and declare an end to their five-day long gherao of the mini-secretariat.
