Massive and angry protests are reported on October 4 all over the country at the call of SKM to condemn the Lakhimpur Kheri incident. During the day, farmers and the administration reach an agreement. FIRs are registered against Ashish Mishra and 15 others under sections 302 and 120 B, under section 120B and others against Ajay Mishra, government to pay 45 lakhs and one job to the families of martyred farmers, 10 lakhs to injured, investigation to be done under the supervision of a retired High Court judge within eight days. After this agreement and families receiving copies of postmortem reports and FIRs cremation of the bodies was allowed. Bodies were kept at the incident site in protest for more than 24 hours. The family of one martyr farmer was not satisfied with the postmortem report, second postmortem was carried out by a team of five doctors under-recording. Following this last body was cremated. SKM gives one week’s time for the minister’s resignation and arrest of his son or else the next round of actions will be announced.
