The National Statistical Office (NSO) Situation Assessment Survey (SAS) report (No. 587) for the agricultural year 2018-19 released. The report presents a distressed picture of Indian agriculture and those engaged in agriculture. The report shows how farmers’ incomes have remained stagnant while the proportion and volume of indebtedness among farmer households has increased.
