Various programs are organized to commemorate Sir Chhotu Ram’s birthday. Chhotu Ram was a prominent Jat politician in British India’s Punjab Province, who fought for the interests of the peasantry. Though the farmer leader was born on November 24, he had declared that his birth anniversary should be celebrated on Basant Panchami.
