In his first press conference after taking oath as the chief minister of Punjab, Charanjit Singh Channi promised to waive outstanding electricity and water bills of the poor. He added that power will continue to be free for farmers in Punjab. Power connections will be restored in case they are disconnected, he said. Additionally, he urged the Centre to repeal the contentious farm laws.
