Farmers in Sirsa protest against the Haryana Assembly Deputy Speaker Ranbir Singh Gangwa who was there to attend a meeting. According to the police, stones were pelted on his car, a charge which the farmers deny. The police release the four farmers who were arrested on the day of the protest after the farmers blocked roads in protest. The police register an FIR of the incident and around 100 protesters were slapped with sedition charges along with 307 (attempt to murder) and 120-B (conspiracy). This is the first time that protestors were charged with sedition charges.
